According to the Business Standard, a recent report has shown that OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT) spends roughly $700,000 per day to keep ChatGPT running. The report also said that Microsoft’s $10 billion investment could be keeping OpenAI afloat, but that the company could face bankruptcy by 2024.

The Business Standard also noted:

The report highlighted the shrinking user visits to ChatGPT website and referred to SimilarWeb’s data which showed that after hitting a record high of 1.9 billion user visits in May this year, the generative AI chatbot witnessed 1.7 billion user visits in June and only 1.5 billion in July.

This decline could be attributed to multiple factors, including the fact that some workplaces prohibit the use of ChatGPT, as well as the fact that ChatGPT is now facing competition from other AI language models—including Elon Musk’s ‘TruthGPT’.
