Challenge

LOVO’s previous website didn’t capture the sensory appeal of its chocolate. It lacked indulgent imagery, felt too niche for a brand aiming to compete with mainstream chocolate giants, and didn’t reflect the joyful, imaginative tone the founders wanted to convey. With a new animated brand film in production, via the Bootleg Films studio, the website also needed to be flexible enough to incorporate video content and help reposition LOVO as an accessible, irresistible choice for everyday consumers.

Approach

Working across time zones with LOVO from our UK studio, we designed a Shopify website that brings LOVO’s dream-like chocolate world to life. Inspired by the film’s visual language, we made it the centrepiece of the homepage and echoed its atmosphere through scroll-based animations, flowing curves, and ambient video clips.

We enhanced the LOVO brand with a new approach to imagery, infusing the site with rich, tempting photography and custom graphics. The ecommerce experience was carefully refined – with improved product pages, smoother checkout, and an user-friendly CMS for the client. Despite a tight deadline, we delivered on time and on budget.

Results

The result is a beautifully immersive website that stands out in a crowded category, brings the sensation of eating LOVO to life, and sets the brand up for long-term growth. This project has won a Web Excellence Award.

Throughout the entire process of working with Novagram there was strong communication and a fast/efficient service. Every deliverable was given to us on time and at an extremely high standard. In the end, Novagram transformed the BPL brand from the new website to marketing materials, that reinvigorated our image. They have delivered a service of design and branding that has put us on the front foot in our market.
