The Space is a public-sector arts organisation, funded by the BBC and Arts Council England, that commissions and funds new digital artworks in the UK, as well as showcasing some of the biggest names in the art world. The Space also brings traditional art forms such as opera and gallery installations to wider audiences via digital media.
The Space wanted to bring more life to it’s brand and make it inspiring, creative and dynamic for digital platforms. It needed to be flexible enough to stay relevant for many years.
We placed art at the centre of The Space’s new identity, creating a flexible logo capable of incorporating excerpts of artworks for limitless variation. Alongside this, we collaborated with director Nick Esdaile on an animated TV ident and developed pitch templates, signage, brand guidelines, marketing materials, and design assets to support an accessible website build.
The result is a dynamic, digital-first brand that adapts seamlessly across platforms, with a logo that can feature both static and animated artwork. The new identity was warmly received, earning praise from key stakeholders including the BBC and Arts Council England.
